PA Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church - Birmingham, AL July 17, 1997 -- Two parishes join in prayer for the victims, families and friends of the TWA Flight 800 air disaster. As we prepare to remember the tragic events of one year ago, we call to mind the blessings God has given us in the new friendships we've made during this past year. Many have found peace, some are still trying to understand. Please pray for all those whose lives have changed. |
| Over the past year, the Youth Group of Our Lady of Lourdes, Birmingham, AL has paired up with our sister parish, Our Lady of Lourdes, Montoursville, Pennsylvania. Here in Birmingham, our Youth Group made several video tapes for our friends in Montoursville, introducing themselves, expressing their sorrow for their loss and grief and letting them know that they have friends who cared for them and would continue to pray for their loss and healing. Our Pennsylvania friends sent to us a beautiful banner made by their Youth Group, that we displayed in our church. These two groups of friends will try to meet at the National Youth Conference to be held later this year. |
