EXCHANGING THE WORLD |
EXCHANGING
THE WORLD |
| Sanctity, then, is not giving up the world. It is exchanging the world.
It is a continuation of that sublime transaction of the Incarnation in which Christ says
to man: "You give Me your humanity, I will give you My divinity. You give Me your
time, I will give you My eternity. You give Me your slavery, I will give you My freedom.
You give Me your death, I will give you My life. You give Me your nothingness, I will give
you My all." And the consoling thought throughout this whole transforming process
that it does not require much time to make us saints; it requires only much love. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen |
RECONCILIATION |
It must be recalled that ... this reconciliation with God
leads, as it were, to other reconciliations, which repair the other breaches caused by
sin. The forgiven penitent is reconciled with himself in his inmost being, where he
regains his innermost truth. He is reconciled with his brethren whom he has in some way
offended and wounded. He is reconciled with the Church. He is reconciled with all
creation.
Para # 1469 Catechism of the Catholic Church
from John Paul II, RP 31, 5. |
RESPECT FOR
LIFE |
As we tinker with the beginning, the end and even the
intimate cell structure of life, we tinker with our own identity as a free nation
dedicated to the dignity of the human person. When American political life becomes an
experiment on people rather than for and by them,
it will no longer be worth conducting. We are arguably moving closer to that day

Gospel of Life: A Challenge to American Catholics."
No public official, especially one claiming to be a faithful and serious
Catholic, can
responsibly advocate for or actively support direct attacks on innocent human life .

ECCLESIA
IN AMERICA |
How can we fail to thank God and express genuine
appreciation to our brothers and sisters in the faith throughout America who are committed
. . . To defending life by every legal means and to protecting the unborn, the incurably
ill and the handicapped. Their work is all the more praiseworthy if we consider the
indifference of so many people, the threats posed by eugenics and the assaults on life of
human dignity perpetrated everywhere each day.
V Pope John Paul II, Ecclesia in America, No 63 |
